Drafting of R&D project

Following the technological scouting service carried out on the same topic, the customer requested to draw up a first draft of the project for the development of new turbines for pumps.

Based on the indications provided during the first part of the project, the customer decided to reinforce the turbines with a plasma treatment.

Thanks to a comparison with the technical literature, the most important parts that the research will have to investigate have been identified. These were then related to the economics of the project itself, highlighting the implications that success or failure would have in resolving these issues.

In order to ensure a rapid start of the project, all the practical indications necessary to immediately move to the operational phase were obtained from the literature. These include the tools to equip, the process parameters to use, and an estimate of the costs and time required. An estimate of the final cost of each piece was also included.

A series of possible partners have been identified, divided according to the phases of the project. These include research groups in universities or other entities, industries or startups that may be of some use in the project.

Result

At the end of the work, a report was produced which contained all the information obtained. Information that, however, had already been discussed with the company’s R&D department, during the frequent update meetings.

Thanks to these indications, the client company contacted one of the partner entities identified by Efesto, and within a few months it activated a project on the development of new turbines.
